We have 3 double rooms and 2 can be twins in the original Inn and new for 2019 we have added 4 further bedrooms, including a stunning family room. The new rooms are nestled in the gardens with easy access to the Inn, carefully designed to complement the beautiful surroundings while bringing a new fresh design.

All rooms are en-suite and named after characters in the Watership Down novel.

Local Attractions

Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery and Visitor Centre

Just a short stroll (approx half a mile) Bombay Sapphire have transformed a 300 year old paper Mill with over 1000 years of history into their global distillery. Hardys Cottage Garden Plants

An independent plant Nursery specialising in herbaceous perennials. Now recognised as one of the UKs leading plantsmens nurseries, stocking over 1,200 plant varieties, including many rare and exciting species - winners of over 20 RHS Chelsea Gold Medals.  They hold lots of talks and seminars during the summer time and are only located approximately 400 meters from our front door. Whitchurch Silk Mill

Only 2.3 miles away you will find the oldest silk mill in the UK still in its original building. A gem of industrial heritage in beautiful, rural Hampshire, Whitchurch Silk Mill is a Georgian water mill that weaves silk using 19th century machinery.

Highclere Castle

7 miles by car and you will find Highclere Castle, or some might know this as Downton Abbey. Designed by Sir Charles B architect of the Houses of Parliament this castle is steeped in history. There is a lot to do and see in Winchester from the Cathedral, one of the largest in Europe, through to the Castle and Greta Hall contain King Arthur’s Round Table. Local Walks

The Watership is in the heart of the Test Valley.  The Mill Trail is an attractive circular walk through the Test Valley Water Meadows. Download the mill trail map here

The area offers a wealth of country lanes and tracks offering a variety of routes from the flat river valleys to the rolling down land.  We can provide local maps.
