Bookings are starting to build up for our wine and food tasting evening on 22nd February. The special menu for the evening includes a homemade Thai crab and prawn fishcake. Chef Steve Gilbert has worked alongside Thai chefs in the past, and has used their influence to make sure that the dish is authentic to its Thai roots. This is paired with a homemade mango salsa, which brings a fresh contrast to the spice in the fishcake. The main event of the evening is the trio of lamb: this comprises a braised belly, confit shoulder, and a pan-seared rack. These stunning cuts of lamb are served with baby leeks, honey-glazed carrot tops, minted fondant potato and a red currant jus. However, the evening is not just about stunning food – it is also about great wine. The wines have been chosen by Francois Dupont, a sommelier for Stone, Vine & Sun wine merchants, who provide all the wine for the pub. Francois has used his experience to choose wines to specifically match each dish on the menu. Be sure to book your table soon, to make sure you are not disappointed.
